Michael Caterisano

Percussionist Michael Caterisano is currently a second year Master’s student at Juilliard, where he studies with Gordon Gottlieb. Since he arrived in New York in 2002, Michael has performed in a variety of settings, from timpanist with the Juilliard Orchestra in Carnegie Hall to fusion band drummer at The Knitting Factory and 55 Bar.

A native of Dallas, Mr. Caterisano completed his Bachelor’s Degree at Juilliard with studies under Daniel Druckman. He has performed twice at the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, Italy, and toured to Lucerne, Berlin, Helsinki, and London.

He is a founding member of the acclaimed New York Miniaturist Ensemble, which has commissioned works by Milton Babbit, Pauline Oliveros, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Charles Wuorinen, and is awaiting works by John Corigliano, Philip Glass, and David Lang.
